Définition :
Occupational didactics aims at analysing the work done in order to teach professional skills. It was born in France in the 1990’s at the junction of a set of practices, adult teaching and three theories which are development psychology, cognitive ergonomics and didactics. It is based on the Piagetian-inspired assumption theory of conceptualisation. The assumption is that human activities are organized under schemes whose core is made of pragmatic concepts.
It seeks a balance between two standpoints: theoretical and epistemological thinking on the basis of human learning, and the wish to operationalise its methods of analysis to adapt it to training. the analysis of the work done here starts with industrial work and expands to services and teaching activities.
This analysis plays a dual role: it is a prerequisite to the making of a training program. And because of its reflexive dimension, it is also an important learning tool.
